Khuzwayo excited about fan involvement

Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo says he is looking forward to interacting with the club's fans in July's Rush esports event in Johannesburg.

The initiative features a supporter spectacle taking place at the Sandton Convention Centre from July 21-23 involving a popular football video game.

The Bafana Bafana international admitted the game inspires players to improve their own standards while taking part in the competition, involving FIFA 17's latest instalment of the gaming empire.

He said: "Most of us (players) enjoy playing it because it's a fantastic game. And for us, as footballers, being there in the game and being able to see ourselves is pretty cool.

"Just to put it straight - I am the champion. I excel, I am brilliant at that game. It will be especially exciting if in the future soccer players can participate and showcase their online gaming talent. The fans will love to see that, while checking our rankings as well."

The 27-year-old made five Premiership appearances in 2016/17 with four of those coming as starts for Steve Komphela's side. Khuzwayo has four Bafana caps to his name since his debut in 2012.
